- ABOUT -
I have been fascinated with photography since I was around 10 years old, when I received my first 35mm point and shoot film camera. After shooting the first roll of film, I opened up the camera to see how my pictures had turned out by unraveling the canister. To my surprise, I saw nothing and thought my camera was broken! Well, it turned out I needed the minor step of processing the film. That experience set my mind in a motion of curiosity. By my high school years, I had acquired my first 35mm film SLR camera, a Pentax K1000. The school allowed me to take five semesters of photography classes, and by my junior year I was shooting weddings and portraits. I learned a lot about the film darkroom and apply the same techniques to my work today in the digital darkroom.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest fostered a deep appreciation for nature. I spend much of my time in the outdoors doing whatever I can to enjoy it. Over the years, I have gravitated towards focusing entirely on landscape photography. I am constantly thinking about what I am going to shoot next, and which new techniques I want to utilize. I currently live in the Puget Sound region of Washington State near the Olympic Mountains.
